right click on your desktop, go to personalize, click WIndow Color and Appearance to chance the color of the windows, choose if their transparent in that color (Like looking through stained glass) or not, The color intensity, then go back and select desktop background, look for the location (I like some of the Windows Wallpapers) And that should be all you need to do, Crimson. I get everything I need out of vista's looks like that.

The greatest movie ever made. I watch it at least once a month, and that has been for the past 3-4 years, so I can actually say I've saw a movie 50+ times. Yes, that is a Runescape Client. Gtfo my nuts I've played that game since late 2001 and it's very hard to let go even if I can't play it right now. I'm a Professional Gamer, Movie Maker, Hacker, and Geek. I'm sorry that I actually do things that uses the maximum potential of my computer. Why else would I have 9 GB of RAM and one of the best processors out there overclocked to 4.2 GHz? I do Amazing HD Gaming movies which I needed a lot of resources and notes to do, I download and play a bunch of great games; Whether it be a PC Game or Emulator, 50% of my HDD (1 TB) is taken up purely of recordings and videos. I do a showcase series on youtube of me showing texture hacks on Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the wii, Which requires a hell lot of management and files. I'm pretty sure that all this stuff is normal for me to have.

It's Ubuntu Linux (http://www.ubuntu.com/) running Gnome (http://www.gnome.org/) (Ubuntu Linux is a desktop/publishing-centric version of Linux). It has everything I need by default for server engineering, so it's perfect for administrating both development and serving of our websites.

The second picture are the virtual desktops. I have 5 different (dual-sceen) desktops running so I can switch between them for more demanding times at work. The 3d cylinder effect is part of Compiz (http://www.compiz.org/) (originally 3Ddesktop), waaaay before Mac or Microsoft's Aero. I think I was testing beta releases of it in the early 2000's, can't remember exactly.

My Windows machine is very bland as I only use it to play a handful of games, it even has the default blue background and classic skin to save some pipe for the games.

Select "Black Ice"
Click save,
restart STEAM.

You have to download it, put it in the steam skins file, then do everything you just said.

Actually I did just what khaotik said (before I saw the post, I figured it out like 10 min after I posted :d), and but Flat - Obsidian. It changed all my steam stuff from grey to black. It's pretty sexy.

i found a bug in windows 7.

the thumbnails that show if you hover your mouse over an open application on the task bar fill the ram and dont refresh fast enough and mess up your game, the only way to fix it is to turn it off, but i still wasnt happy about the size of dwm.exe, so i set my comp to look like windows 98
